The Magical Fountain of Montjuïc is one of Barcelona's main attractions, located at the foot of Montjuïc mountain, near the Palau Nacional. It was built in 1929 for the Barcelona International Exhibition, and its creator was the engineer Carles Buïgas, who designed a monumental fountain with an innovative system for the time, capable of combining water, light and music in a synchronised spectacle.

This fountain is famous for its nightly shows, where jets of water rise and light up in different colours, while synchronised to music of various genres, which can include everything from classical music to film soundtracks and popular music. The light and water displays are impressive, with more than 50 combinations of colours and jet shapes, and can be seen on several days of the week, attracting locals and tourists alike.

The Magic Fountain has a capacity of over 3,000 litres of water per second, flowing through its five main pools. As well as being a spectacle in its own right, the fountain's setting, overlooking the Palau Nacional and Plaça d'Espanya, adds to the majesty of the place.

Today, the Magic Fountain of Montjuïc remains an iconic symbol of Barcelona, representing the vibrant and artistic character of the city, as well as being a focal point for major events such as New Year's celebrations or the end of the La Mercè festival.
